Through the establishment of the Passover, God demonstrates His mercy to the Israelites by providing a way for them to escape the tenth judgment, the death of the firstborn. The Passover is perhaps the most remarkable event that prefigures the coming of Christ-the ultimate revelation of God's mercy-and intersects with the cross work of Christ at several points.
