Paul follows up the promise that the reconciled believer is “holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight,” with these words: “If indeed you continue in the faith.” This “if” clause is at the heart of Paul’s message to the Colossians and teach us two necessary truths regarding our personal reconciliation to the Father through Christ.
