Christ, the Perfect Servant

As part of the household code of conduct for believers in the church, the apostle Paul includes instruction to slaves and slave owners. It cannot escape our attention, however, when Paul advises slaves, “You serve the Lord Christ,” that Jesus Himself modeled perfect servitude. Parallel to the ideas in this text, Jesus modeled three aspects of servitude which compel us to serve as He did.
