The New Testament clearly mandates the public reading of Scripture. This lesson explores why it is such a vital practice in a Christian church. We also show the New Testament emphasis on hearing the Word of God in public worship. This nearly forgotten element of corporate worship reminds the people of God what they are to hear, how the Word of God is to be heard, what benefits there are to hearing the word, and how the saints may practice hearing the Word.
