Bethany Bible church began in 1983, though it wasn't incorporated until 1984, with Paul Travis as the first pastor. Its early emphasis was on biblical preaching, missions, and evangelism. AWANA was one of its earliest outreaches.

In 1984, the church began looking for property on which to build. The lot on Chadwick Ave. was discovered, bought, and by Easter 1985, paid for. On April, 1984, after the morning worship service, ground was broken for the new building. The building was completed and dedicated in 1987.
Bethany Bible Church has been blessed with mature and godly senior pastors througout our history. As mentioned above, Paul Travis was the church's founding pastor from 1983–1991.

Bill Jones began pastoring the church in 1991. Pastor Jones worked to create a number of church committees, oversaw additions to the church building, and promoted corporate prayer. Bill and his family moved to New York City to evangleize the Jewish population, engage in mercy food ministries, and pastor the Manor Community Church.
Aaron Burk served as Youth Pastor from 1995–2000. Following Bill Jones' departure, Aaron served as the church's interim pastor and was promoted to senior pastor through 2002. Aaron and Whitney returned to youth ministry at the Ancorage Camp and Aaron currently serves in the Student Life department at Bob Jones University ministering to thousands of students each year.

Greg Stiekes '05
Greg Stiekes was called to be the senior pastor in 2002. He oversaw the creation of a church mission's policy, emphasized expositional preaching, and directed an annual children's music camp. Pastor Stiekes transitioned to Greenville, SC in 2015 and currently pastors a church in Traveller's Rest, SC.
Russ Baun was called to be the senior pastor in 2016. Russ had previous ministry experience as a Christian school administrator, a missionary in Africa, and a pastoral staff member in numerous churches. Pastor Baun is committed to expositional preaching, the authority of Scripture, corporate prayer, and indigenous missions.
