Micaiah fits well into this series because there is very little known about Him. It was not easy being a prophet of God in Israel. He was the one faithful prophet among four hundred false prophets and was bold in proclaiming God’s message regardless of the consequences. He chose to speak what the LORD said unto him as opposed to going along with the false prophets. Ahab chose to ignore his message and it ended up costing him his life. Ahab and Jezebel were determined to recapture Ramoth Gilead from Ben-Hadad, King of Aram. Victory was uncertain without the help of Jehoshaphat and the army of Judah. The key to this whole account is based on Jehoshaphat’s desire to hear from God and on Micaiah, the one prophet who could reveal God’s message.
