Pastor Russ Baun
Russ Baun
Pastor Russ Baun was born and raised in Orchard Park, New York. It was during evangelistic services in the 5th grade that he realized he was a sinner in need of God’s provision of grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. “I repented of my sins and placed my trust in Christ as my Savior.”

In his teen years, he was active in the youth group at First Baptist Church of West Seneca and a student in West Seneca Christian School. Following graduation, he attended Cedarville College in Cedarville, Ohio and Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. “During my last two years at BJU, I ministered on the weekends as the youth pastor for Carson Memorial Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, NC. It was during my time there that I felt God’s call into the ministry.”

Gene Walters Gene Walters
Gene Walters was born in Pensacola, Florida and spent much of his youth in southern Alabama. As a teenager he was brought under the teaching of the gospel through a baseball outreach ministry of a local church. Gene became a Christian when he repented of his sin, placed his faith in Christ, and was saved.

Gene attended Bob Jones University, majoring in Bible, and graduated in 1967. He returned to the same church where he was saved and began teaching at Santa Rosa Christian School. There he met his first wife, Miriam, whom he married in 1969. Gene and Miriam moved to Bradenton, Florida where he spent 16+ teaching at Community Christian School.

In 1993, Miriam was taken home by God following a battle with breast cancer. Meanwhile Gene’s failing eyesight prevented him from teaching a large classroom of teenagers. Throughout this difficult trial, Gene declared the goodness of God and considered Daniel 4:35 as his source of peace and strength. Gene and his children, Jennifer and Willie, moved to Hendersonville in 1995 where Gene was employed at Faith Christian School being allowed to teach some smaller classes.

At Faith Christian, Gene met Debbie Garren and they were married in 1998. Gene retired from teaching in 2001. Since that time, he has devoted himself to the study of God’s word and to prayer. He has audited numerous courses at Geneva Reformed Seminary in Greenville, SC and has taught Sunday School quite regularly.
