Sunday Morning Service,  June 11, 2017

Paul would tell Titus that the church needs to learn how to meet the pressing needs of others. It is the very heart of God to show his love by feeding the hungry and clothing those who are in need of warmth. When the church engages in mercy ministries God receives great glory.
A Follower of Christ
John 12:25-26; Mark 8:34-38
Speaker
Sunday Morning Service,  June 4, 2017

What does it truly mean to follow Christ? Jesus' summon to deny oneself and follow him was an invitation to salvation, not an offer of a higher life or a second step of faith following salvation. Every Christian is a disciple of Christ and needs to understand the requirements and realities of following Him.
The Hidden Treasure and the Pearl of Great Price
Matthew 13:44-46
Speaker
Sunday School,  June 4, 2017

This lesson centers on the fifth and sixth parables of the seven which are found in Matthew 13. They are taken together because of their common theme - the worth or the value of Christ. They also point out that leaving everything is necessary to obtain salvation.
Peace that the World Cannot Give
John 14:25-31
Speaker
Sunday Morning Service,  May 28, 2017

People long for peace in their personal lives. They long to have relief from the pressures and problems of life, to be without trouble and have no worries. While the world offers peace in many different temporary forms, the world's peace will always disappoint. In its place, Jesus offers his disciples real, lasting peace that will eliminate their worries and fears.
Comfort for the Troubled
John 14:15-26
Speaker
Sunday Morning Service,  May 21, 2017

The disciples were extremely troubled as they began to realize that Jesus was about to leave them and that they would not be able to go with him. Circumstances were about to change their entire lives and they were feeling insecure and worried about all that the future might bring. Jesus promises them special comfort through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, through his own presence, and through the love of the Father, if they will love him and keep his commandments.
Watching and Waiting
Luke 12:35-48
Speaker
Sunday School,  May 21, 2017

Every genuine believer is a servant of God. Watching and waiting is a familiar theme with at least three of the parables of Jesus. As God’s servants, we are expected to be faithfully doing our work when our Lord returns. Not only does Jesus teach us concerning the certainty of His return at an unexpected moment, but there is a strong implication in the parable that His servants will continue serving for an unspecified time before that return. This describes the period of time in which we are living now and until that moment, every believer ought to be longing for it to take place (Titus 2:13; Revelation 22:20) and loving it (II Timothy 4:8). Those who love the Lord will be prepared and ready for it to take place.
A Mother Who Made A Difference
1 Samuel 1:1-2:10

Being a mother is not easy! If you're a mother, you know that motherhood can be messy, and at times frustrating, and exhausting. Life doesn't always work out the way that we planned. Yet, in the midst of it all, God has a plan. Hannah can teach us several lessons when it comes to handling the difficulties of family life. How do we handle disappointment, discouragement, provocation and misunderstanding? Can God prevail even in the midst of what may appear to be a hopeless situation?
The Unwise Steward
Luke 12:42-48; Matthew 24:45-51

Sunday School,  May 14, 2017

Being a steward of Christ places important responsibilities upon our shoulders.
Stop Worrying!
John 14:1-14
Speaker
Sunday Morning Service,  May 7, 2017

Often the circumstances of our lives don't turn out the way that we expect. In the midst of that turmoil, it is easy to worry about how things are going, what will happen next and if everything will be okay in the end. The disciples have been on an emotional roller coaster leading up to John 14. Their expectations of the Messiah establishing his kingdom immediately have been dashed by his proclamation that he will be laying down his life for them, Jesus has told them that one of them would betray him, and Peter has been told that he will deny his Lord. Yet in the midst of all of this turmoil, Jesus commands his disciples to stop worrying and place their faith and trust completely in Him.
The Lost Sheep

God our father cares a great deal about each of us, His little ones. His care and compassion are great. Luke 15:1-7 illustrates God’s compassion and grace for the unsaved also.
