The Qualities of an Honorable Vessel
2 Timothy 2:20-23

In this text, Paul elaborates on the second inscription of verse 19, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity." Using the analogy of honorable and dishonorable vessels, he challenges God's servants to be the honorable kind, cleansed from iniquity. Cleansed vessels, Paul tells us, are marked by three distinct qualities which delight the heart of our Master:
