Some churches adopt the name of Eucharist for the Lord's Table to emphasize it as a time of thanksgiving to the Lord for His sacrifice on our behalf. We can be thankful at the Communion for the finished and perfect work of Christ, but also, be thankful for the Lord's Supper. Jesus gave us this historical, memorial, and evangelical ordinance to consider the past, present, and future blessings so that we might draw close to Him.
