As God’s children in Christ Jesus, we have a mandate to share the Gospel in our own Jerusalem (Acts 1:8). Acts 13, reveals a very close connection between the Holy Spirit and evangelism which includes both our witnessing and any missionary work that is accomplished through the ministry of the local church. Keeping in mind that it is the Holy Spirit who convicts of sin and woos the unbeliever to Christ, our relationship to the Holy Spirit of God is critical if we are to be used as a true servant of God. In order to understand this, we must go back to the beginning to note the promise of the Spirit and His purpose for indwelling the lives of believers.
